Dr. Stitha Pragna G, MD,DM is a Hematologist who specializes in treating a variety of blood cancers and children and adults, including Acute Myeloid Leukemia (AML), Acute Lymphocytic Leukemia (ALL) and Multiple Myeloma, Hodgkins and Non-hodgkins Lymphoma. He performs stem cell transplants for cancer treatment, benign hematological diseases (Aplastic anemia, PNH,Thalasemia), including autologous (stem cells come from the individual receiving the transplant) and allogeneic (stem cells come from a matched donor) transplants.
Dr. Stitha Pragna treats rare lymphoproliferative disorder like castleleman disease, rare histiocytosis like Langerhans cell histiocytosis, Erdheim-Chester disease, and Rosai-Dorfman disease. Many of these disorders have novel therapies are designed to be more effective with less toxicity and targeted for individualized therapy.
He is part of the Bone Marrow transplant program in Yashoda Hospitals, Hitech City which provides patients with the unique opportunity to receive care from the same physician throughout all phases of blood cancer treatment. This includes initial consultation and diagnosis, treatment to help achieve remission, care throughout stem cell transplants, and follow-up survivorship care.
Dr. Stitha Pragna also offers treatment to adults and children with relapsed or refractory B-cell lymphoma and leukemia. He treats such patients with some of the targeted cancer therapies.
His special interests include immunotherapy and cellular therapy treatment for hematologic malignancies and specialized therapies for bone marrow failure syndrome like aplastic anemia and myelodysplastic syndromes.
Dr. Stitha Pragna completed his doctorate of Medicine in hematology/oncology at the prestigious All India Institute of Medical Sciences, Delhi. He completed his internal medicine residency from the prestigious Nizam’s Institute of Medical Sciences, Hyderabad. He started his medical education from Andhra Medical College, Visakhapatnam. He is certified in internal medicine, hematology, Hemato-oncology and Bone Marrow Transplantation.
Outside of work, Dr.Stitha Pragna enjoys spending time with his family. He enjoys singing, plays cricket, badminton, also stays active through running and hiking.
